We aired this conversation with Sheila's husband Jimmy this morning (Monday 8/22/11). It was not an easy phone call for Jimmy to make. Sheila is not doing well. Keep praying for her. I don't know what else I could possibly add to what Jimmy has to say here.
for Sheila!

You raised me up!
Dear Sheila, my God be with you! I started listening to you in Aug. 2009 when you did the morning show with Mike. You made me laugh, cry and brought so much happiness into my life, when things were dark and lonely! Thank you for all that you have done for me! Praising him!
Sheila has been a blessing to me every morning for a very long time. My heart is breaking for her and for her family. We don't what God has for her but we can all know that He is with her right now. I have listened to 93.3 for the last 8 years and had the most fun listening to Sheila and Mike and Jerry. My prayer is that as her family goes through this with her they would remember Psalm 91 and Isaiah 40:31. I know that no matter what happens Sheila has walked and not fainted, she has run and never seemed weary and she will soar with the wings of eagles. My song for her is More Power to Ya by Petra it is from the early 80's but it has been what she has said through all of this. May God in His infinite wisdom carry her, her family and all of her radio family through this. Jimmy, my prayer for you and Jesse is God's strength and love will be your strength. May God's presence be strong in that hospice room and may Jesus Himself be there to carry out the Father's wishes... earthly healing or ultimate healing. My heart and prayers are with you all.
ReplyDeletePrayers up for Sheila and her family. We don't always understand but we know God always has a plan for our lives. God Bless you Sheila.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for Shiela and her family. It's hard to see someone you love suffering and hard to understand too, but God is in control.
ReplyDeleteI used to work with Sheila at the the Y, she was a huge blessing to me, and my family. She helped me through the loss of my unborn child, and prayed for me, and I truly believe that because of her prayers I have now two healthy boys and one more on the way now. I have been praying for her and her family and will continue to do so. God has his hands on her, I truly believe that! You are very loved Mrs. Sheila!
ReplyDeleteI have been listening to J93.3 for about 2 years now and it was always so nice to hear Sheila's voice. I cannot imagine going through what she's been going through and still have the uplifting spirit that she always seemed to have. Truly an inspiration. It makes my problems seem nothing in comparison. I will pray for healing and comfort for her and her family.
ReplyDeleteI met Sheila almost 10 years ago when she was a guest speaker at a Single's Group at Crossroads Church. Little did I know my husband to be was the one she called to the front of the room to do her "icebreaker" with the toilet paper. I loved listening to her on the radio and could not wait to meet her! She's truly a blessing to so many and such an inspiration! My heart breaks for her and her family. I pray Sheila feels God's presence in the days ahead in hospice and that He will give her and her family comfort during such a difficult time! You are so loved, Mrs. Sheila!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers go out to Sheila and her family. Sheila will always have a special place in my heart, because in my darkest hour after my son's death, Sheila was the bright light that I needed. We shared inspiring conversations and inspirational emails. I will never forget you Sheila and thank you for allowing God's light to shine through you so brightly. The one thing I know for sure, is I'll see you in the future, sleep with the angels. Love, M. D.
ReplyDeleteI moved to Atlanta 15 years ago so I've listened to Sheila for a long time. I talked to Sheila so many times that she invited me to her wedding and that's where we met. Sheila and Jimmy you are and will always have a special place in my heart. God be with you and your family..!!
ReplyDeleteSo heartbreaking to hear Jimmy. The love, care, concern and loss... Praying that Sheila will be able to rest without pain and that these days will be precious to family. May God comfort you today and in the days to come...So many people love you guys and are praying for you.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter came home from school and said that one of her friends prayer request was for Sheila..This let me know what an impact she has had on so many lives. A 12 year old has prayer for her in her school. WOW God is awesome. I sit here and cry for Sheila, but then I have aww that she may soon be with the One and only..Our God the Father and that makes the sadness turn into a beautiful miracle. Thank you Sheila and J93.3 for spreading Gods Love to this world.
ReplyDelete" Heavenly Father, I pray for Sheila, who is so very tired. Please give her comfort and make all of her moments with her family absolutely precious. You made her, and only You can heal her. I pray in Jesus' Name.. the name above ALL others, that Your presence would flood her room right now and meet her needs and the needs of her family.
ReplyDeleteThank You for allowing her to bless my life.
Amen."
Sheila was my first friend moving here to Georgia 11 years ago even though I didn't actually meet her face to face until years later. I listened faithfully to her on the J93.3 radio every morning and felt as though I knew her personally. What a Godly woman she is! Prayers for comfort for her and her family.
ReplyDeleteYou are truly an example of God! You are an inspiration to us all as you show us the true meaning of God's grace, hope , peace & love! May the Holy Spirit fill your hospice room and the heart of all who enter! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! May God hold you in His loving hands as you continlue to trust Him! In Christ from one of your J93.3 family members!
ReplyDeleteI know this is the hardest part of the journey Sheila's had with cancer...but, she is close to resting and being in the arms of Jesus. Her family truly needs all of us uplifting them. God Bless all of you. Stand firm in your faith, and in the stillness of the night KNOW THAT GOD IS WHO HE SAYS HE IS.
ReplyDeleteI have loved listening to Sheila and her always vibrant voice. Her courage helped me make it through my own bout with Chemo last year. I pray for her, her family and her friends. My God wrap you in His warmth and Blessings.
ReplyDeleteSheila, I met you one morning when I went to pick up tickets for a concert, and they ushered me into the studio. Little did I know that I would be meeting you that morning. I was picking up tickets to give to our new Contemporary Worship Leader at our church, and you were impressed that I was giving them away. Little did you know that you gave me more that morning than I have had the opportunity to give away. You were so happy, joyful, and made me feel at home there in the studio. I did not even know at that time that you were battling your battle with this cancer. You never showed it on the radio. I will forever remember the mornings I have listened to you and your co-hosts. God has let you minister to more people than you will know until you talk to him at home with him. You have been an inspiration to me many times. I pray for your family as they go through this with you, but just know that they will be so loved by all of us because of you. Soon you will be "in the arms of the angels" and we "can only imagine" what you will be seeing! We love you and pray for rest now for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila you don't know me but you are so known by those of us who listen to you. You are and Angel; your steadfastness, compassion, gentleness, faith and I can go on and on, give me the desire to want to listen to J93 all the time. I got attracted to J93 because of the genuineness of the staff. You guys stop every now and then and just pray for people, something that other xtian stations don't do. God bless the staff of J93. It is like He carefully hand picked all of you. To Sheila again, I say you are a trophy for Jesus. We continue to pray for you and your family.
ReplyDeletePrayers go up for Sheila , her family , her radio family and to all that have listen to her over the years . I am sure she is resting quitely in Jesus's arms and what a place to be in the ultimate comforter . My God bless her and keep her pain free until she is with him in glory .
